Papers of several members of the Langdon family, among them Capt. Woodbury Langdon (1802-1842), including correspondence with his wife Frances Cutter Langdon; papers of her second husband Francis Bassett; papers of Dr. Francis E. Langdon (1842-1890), his brother Woodbury (1836-1921), his future wife Helen Bell Haven, and of their children Francis E. (b.1872), a lawyer in Portsmouth, N.H., and Helen H. Langdon. The papers consist primarily of family correspondence; some business correspondence of various people; some financial and legal papers; and genealogical materials. (Cont'd) Also, a few letters of William Eustis; letters from Lawrence L. Stone to Helen H. Langdon while he was serving in World War I; a few notebooks of studies, births, and hospital admittances of Francis E. Langdon (b.1872) while he was studying and serving temporarily (prior to his law career) as a doctor in Boston; a recipe book, a commonplace-book, and account book (1894-96) of Helen H. Langdon; and a commonplace-book of Sophia H. Langdon. Additional correspondents include Thomas R. Pynchon.
